The Path" is a series of three sculptures that represent my interpretation of a spiritual voyage.
The first sculpture is "Embrace". When we are able to embrace our past experiences, we can find the wisdom to propel life forward. We must enfold life's lessons.
The second sculpture is "Empower". This represents the moment when we are asked to bare witness to our dreams. We will be empowered by our struggles and our accomplishments.
astly we come to the final sculpture called "Emerge" . The past and present will lead us to the future of infinite possibilities. To be enlightened and free of all those things that once held us captive.
The lower portion of the sculpture resembles a tree trunk to project the idea that we as human beings are rooted in the earth and our nurturance comes from that relationship. I use sand casting to mold the concrete. This technique resonates with me, since this element is the basis of our origin. Molding all of us.
This abstract form expresses elegant movement and delicate human connection. The figures are made from copper rod and the base is black walnut.
